Abstract
Studied the degree to which negative vs positive stereotypical traits can be reduced by presenting stereotype-consistent and stereotype-inconsistent information. Human subjects: 177 normal Dutch adults (undergraduate students). Positive and negative stereotype-consistent and stereotype-inconsistent information was spread among 8 group members in 4 experimental conditions (consistent positive and inconsistent positive, consistent positive and inconsistent negative, consistent negative and inconsistent negative, and consistent negative and inconsistent positive) and 1 control condition (no information presented). A total of 33-37 Ss participated in each condition. A 1-way ANOVA and Duncan's multiple range test were performed
