Abstract
This article explores how the museum industry should re-examine its functions and undergo profound changes against the climate emergency. When facing the challenge of climate change, museums not only bear the responsibility of passing on history but also have the potential to lead future transformations.Although the museum community has begun to take corresponding measures, its traditional operation model still needs further innovation. By introducing the Reimagining Museums for Climate Action (RMCA) project, this paper deeply analyzes how to rethink the future development of museums through interdisciplinary cooperation, innovative design competitions, exhibitions, and other forms to promote the implementation of climate action. In addition, the paper summarizes the achievements during the 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) and proposes possible paths for deep-seated changes in museums.
