| Abstract | The ever increasing demands of data intensive eScience applications have pushed the limits of computer networks. With the launch of the new 40 Gigabit Ethernet standard, 802.3ba, applications can go beyond the common 10 Gigabit/s per data stream barrier for both local area and, as it shall be presented in this report, wide area setups. This report focuses on the setup and results of two 40 Gbps Ethernet technology demonstrations, the first at GLIF 2010 in Geneva, Switzerland and the second at Supercomputing 2010 in New Orleans, USA. |
