Abstract
The drone documentation operations were commissioned by dr. Eelco Rensink of the Rijksdienst voor het Cultureel Erfgoed, in collaboration with the Maasband Project group (drs. Rob Paulussen, http://www.maasbandproject.nl/). The goal of the project has been to test the potential of UAS documentation and remote sensing in the historical geographical landscape context around the Meuse River in Limburg and to evaluate what type of landscape, historical and/or archaeological features can be identified in the area. Prior to the fieldwork, an intensive desk-based assessment was carried out and based on this, the bounds of the current drone research area have been established (Paulussen et al. 2020).
