Abstract
In this thesis, various biomarkers and their potential to contribute to further personalization and improvement of breast cancer care, are evaluated. First, an introduction is given into the current use of biomarkers in breast cancer care. This is followed by an overview of developments from recent years that are expected to contribute to the personalization of breast cancer treatment in the future. Research on validating blood biomarkers for breast cancer detection is presented, alongside studies on clinical features and tissue biomarkers for HER2-positive breast cancer, assessing their prognostic and predictive value. The thesis concludes with a discussion of findings and future research directions.
