| Abstract |
The Virtual Interiors-project test the implementation of the spatial humanities concept 'deep maps' and develops 2D/3D/4D user interfaces to allow users to analyse and to annotate historical resources of the city of Amsterdam in a geo-temporal, digital environment. The contribution discusses methodological issues concerning the use of different historical data categories for virtual reconstructions, and the opportunities to use these reconstructions as an instrument for historical research. One of the main objectives of the project is to develop a common language to represent uncertainties in the use of incomplete and heterogeneous data. This way the project hopes to contribute to debates around the implementation of the European Time Machine.
