| Abstract |
The aesthetic ideal of the golden section is a Romantic projection, belonging entirely to the 19th Century and its aftermath. Dealing with the golden section is not dealing with the most beautiful proportion, but with the most beautiful idea: the idea that such a proportion should exist, and make our ideal image accessible to the senses.
