Abstract
The impact of the terrorist attacks of 11 September 2001 on Dutch policy making in the fields of immigration and integration has been relatively small. In as far as policy responses could be noted, they first and foremost fit in with a tendency towards restrictive immigration policies and less laissez-faire integration policies the origins of which lie in the mid l990s. In general terms, the relationship between Muslims of immigrant origin and segments of the native population has to some extent deteriorated or at any rate become more explicit, as for instance can be understood from opinion polls.
