Abstract More than 15 years ago, Harry van den Berg (2004a, 2004b) wrote two introductory articles about discourse analysis for KWALON. We seek to add to and update his excellent introductions, focusing on one form of discourse analysis that has become a fully-fledged approach during the last three decades: discursive psychology (DP). We begin by outlining DP’s key principles and describe how to conduct a DP study. Subsequently, we present an example to illustrate how DP analysis is done. We close with reflections on DP’s advantages in and beyond social psychology.
