Abstract The thesis can be ideally divided into two parts. The first, comprising chapters 1 to 3, consists of basic research focused on understanding the foundations of human behavior. The second part, which consists of the last chapter, uses state-of-the-art techniques from behavioral and experimental economics to investigate a question relevant to climate policy.
