Abstract
Many collaborative action research projects have two kinds of ambitions: to involve the knowledge of people having intimate experience of social inequalities and to encourage systemic thinking about the forces and processes at work in the reproduction of social inequalities. To what extent are these two ambitions compatible? To address this question, this article discusses the outcomes of CO-CREATE, a research and policy experimentation project aimed at renewing health promotion tools regarding healthy lifestyles among adolescents and children. The implementation of this project makes it possible to observe and discuss the political dimension of prevention as well as various tensions that are useful to be aware of in the prospect of an ambitious take on the democratisation of prevention.
