| Abstract |
This blog-entry adds some analyses and visualizations related to the topic of the origins of music/ality as discussed in an upcoming issue of Behavioral and Brain Sciences (BBS; cf. Mehr et al., 2021; Savage et al., 2021). An upcoming issue of Behavioral and Brain Sciences contains two target articles discussing the origins of musicality. Sam Mehr and colleagues argue that musicality originates in credible signaling, while Pat Savage and colleagues instead point to social bonding. We asked the many commentators where they would position themselves in this debate. |
