Abstract
This book results from papers presented at the workshop “Rethinking enclosures in Colombia from a regional and global context. The role of territory, coloniality, and temporality,” held at the Universidad del Rosario in 2018. The texts were enhanced by exchanges and debates during the workshop and by writing each chapter in dialogue with comments and suggestions from the editors of this volume.
The Peace Agreements constitute a milestone that marks a before and an after—an indentation on the historical timeline of societies. Based on a detailed analysis of specific and distinctive cases, actors, and processes, the chapters making up this book concur that the “post-agreement” period that opens after signing the Peace Agreements is superimposed on a heterogeneous and unequal social, territorial, and temporal reality. One of the central challenges of this book is to reinstate analytically the situated and, therefore, changing character of the post-agreement process.
