Abstract
Legal Knowledge Interchange Format (LKIF), being developed under the ESTRELLA project, is a SemanticWeb based language for representing legal knowledge in order to support modeling of legal domains and to facilitate interchange between legal knowledgebased systems. In this summary we restate main points reported in the Deliverable 1.1: Specification of the Legal Knowledge Interchange Format. The objectives of the work package and requirements with respect to LKIF are recapitulated, followed by
an overview of the language and technical specification of its constituent fragments. Additionally, the summary accounts for certain refinements in the formalization of LKIF rules, which have been accepted since the submission of the Deliverable.
