Abstract
The Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and the Family of the Slovak Republic (MoLSAF) requires reliable information for policy making. An important way to strengthen the institutional capacities of MoLSAF in the field of labour market policies is to acquire a number of reliable labour market indicators. Among these, indicators on job vacancies, job creation and job destruction are of prime importance, since they provide an indication of the dynamics on the demand side of the labour market.

In this report, information is provided on methodologies to collect data and calculate indicators on job vacancies, job creation and job destruction in small businesses (with less than 20 employees) in the Slovak Republic.

To improve the methodologies on data collection, and thereby the quality of the data on job vacancies, job creation and job destruction in small businesses in the Slovak Republic, recommendations are given with respect to data collection methods.

These recommendations are based on information with regard to potential methods for data collection as used throughout Europe, taking notice of the specific national and economic circumstances with regard to data collection on job vacancies, job creation and job destruction that currently exists in the Slovak Republic.
