Abstract In 1975, the first European consumer policy program was adopted. That means that in 2025, the European Union celebrated 50 years of EU consumer law. Such an anniversary calls for an evaluation. What have 50 years of European consumer law brought us? What may be seen as reasons to celebrate (high points), what should we rather forget or step away from (low points), and what are the contemporary points of attention? In this paper, I will address these matters.
