| Abstract |
Droplet impacts are common in our daily lives. It plays a crucial role in various engineering processes, including surface coating, painting, irrigation, and inkjet printing. To improve processes involving droplet impacts, it is essential to understand how a droplet impacts and spreads across a surface, and that for different conditions. Moreover, droplet impacts raises much interest from a fundamental point of view as it encompasses viscous, capillary and inertial effects.
In this Thesis, we investigated experimentally the impact and spreading of complex liquid droplets under various conditions. Our study encompassed the impact and spreading of both Newtonian and Non-Newtonian droplets, as well as the influence of the surface temperature on the droplet spreading. Additionally, impacts of compound drops made of different combinations of water and oils are reported. Finally, we investigated the impacts of soft hydrogel ball and foam ball both filled with a liquid. |
