Abstract
In this paper an aggregate model for manufacturing systems consisting of ow lines with nite buers and parallel servers is proposed. The proposed model is a multi-server station with process times depending on the work in process (WIP). An algorithm is developed to measure the WIP-dependent process times directly from industrial data such as arrival times at and departure times from the manufacturing system. Simulation results show that the aggregate model accurately predicts the mean ow time.
