Abstract
In this article, the idea of "spectacle" has two meanings: spectacle as a genre in the manifestation of the spectacle piece or melodrama; and the spectacle as an epistemological factor or theorem for a specific form of cultural analysis. The spectacle is a manifestation of the crisis: the crisis of the modern age at the start of the 19th century with political and aesthetic break in the self-image of the western individual. The manifestiation is bundled in the melodrama as a genre of the intermedia crossover of textual and pictoral technologies borrowed from progress of mass culture. The criticism of the theater of spectacle, using the meaning of separation and splitting, is examined.
