Abstract Due to improvements in care for patients with congenital heart disease (CHD) over the last 3 decades, early operative mortality for paediatric cardiac surgery is now very low: the raw 30-day mortality rate from registry data is 2–4%. This article provides ten things you need to know about long-term outcomes after paediatric cardiac surgery.
