Abstract
New Strategies in Conservation of Contemporary Art is a collaborative, interdisciplinary research programme of Maastricht University (UM), the University of
Amsterdam (UvA) and the Cultural Heritage Agency of the Netherlands (RCE). It is partly funded by the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (NWO). The research program New Strategies in Conservation of Contemporary Art started in 2009. Within this project we have developed a model of writing ‘cultural biographies’ based on the investigation of material culture and research into the ‘anthropology of things’. In 2011 the outline of the project was presented and illustrated with some of the case studies during the ICOM-CC 16th Triennial Conference in Lisbon in the
Working Group Theory and History of Conservation.
