Abstract Analysis of a biographical entry in Rizaeddin Fakhreddinov's Athar vol. 3; the subject is the Sufi master Ishmuhammad Dinmuhamedov (d. 1919) who used to denounce Fakhreddinov (d. 1936) to the Tsarist authorities, thereby prompting police measures against Fakhreddinov. The paper analyzes the discursive strategies that Fakhreddinov employs to depict the evil character of his personal enemy.
