Maarten Rademakers richtte zich op diagnostiek, behandeling, uitkomsten en langetermijnresultaten van fracturen rond de knie. De promovendus keek onder andere naar de variatie in beoordeling van 2D- en 3D-scans voor diagnostische doeleinden en verrichtte biomechanisch onderzoek naar verschillende fixatiemethoden bij de chirurgische behandeling van complexe tibiaplateaufracturen.
