| Abstract | Agelas linnaei spec.nov. (Porifera: Demospongiae: Agelasida: Agelasidae) is described from the Thousands Islands reef complex, West- Java, Indonesia. The new species is compared with all other Agelas species occurring in the Indo-West Pacific region. The new species differs from these other species by the overall morphology and the size of the verticillated acanthostyles. Surprisingly, this is only the second Agelas species ever described from Indonesia. |
