Description
This dataset consists of an Excel document which presents a visual representation of the data collected in the study into the acquisition of classifier predicates in second language learners of NGT. This study is one of the four studies carried out by Eveline Boers-Visker in the context of her doctoral research entitled ‘Learning to use space: a study into the SL2 acquisition process of adult learners of Sign Language of the Netherlands’ (2016-2020). In this particular study, fourteen NGT-learners were followed over the course of two years. The participants performed a total of fifteen tests (twelve in year 1, three in year 2), designed to elicit two-handed classifier constructions by means of prompts consisting of photos and short video clips. In two separate documents (one in English, one in Dutch) an explanation to the Excel document is provided.
