| Abstract | Catena celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2023 and this is a good moment to reflect on where we come from, and where we stand. Catena has developed into a well-established and influential Q1 interdisciplinary journal in soil science and geomorphology. However, its origins are interesting to say the least, and at its time of birth, it was not clear at all whether it would become a success. |
