| Abstract |
Moral issues regarding the Christian Ten Commandments, the Pillars of Islam and the Negative Confession of the Egyptian Book of the Dead are compared. Then they are further considered in a discussion of the different notions, in Christianity and Islam, of the Judgment of the Dead, the Day of Judgment and heaven or paradise in comparison with, and partly in contrast to, ancient Egyptian religion. In Christianity and Islam, for example, the Day of Judgment is a collective event, whereas this notion is completely absent from the ancient Egyptian judgment which is a purely individual matter. |
