Abstract The article reports on the strict notification rules on unsafe foods in the Netherlands as of March 2016. Topics discussed include the Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority's (NWWA) guidelines for notification in the form of a decision tree for food companies, and the two exceptions when NWWA notification is not needed. Also noted is the room for interpretation on specific circumstances between the General Food Law Regulation and the NWWA guidelines.
